The Water Module in the Tygron Platform is intended to simulate the movement of (liquid) water in a project area, and the impact of this movement. The Water Module is primarily created analyzing spatial water problems in urban and rural areas. These include heavy rainfall scenarios, flooding and evacuation situations and groundwater and water management simulations. Simulations can be performed on, among others (see Use cases):
- Flooding: Movie: Dam Breach
- Stress testing for climate change
- Droughts: Movie: Droogte/ Droughts (Dutch only)
- Water quality
The Water Module is based on established theory and is validated using (combinations of) several existing benchmarks.
The Water Module is implemented as different grid based Water Overlays, where each overlay is tuned for specific analyses, insights, use cases and results.
