Surface infiltration is calculated per cell.
First, the infiltration capacities are calculated:
- Cwater = Wsurface
- Ctop = max( Icon, Isurf )
- Isurf = 0 if a construction is present
- Icon = 0 if no construction is present
Then the actual infiltration:
- Δw = min( Cwater , Δt * Ctop)
Where:
- Δw = The surface infiltration which takes place.
- Failed to parse (MathML with SVG or PNG fallback (recommended for modern browsers and accessibility tools): Invalid response ("Math extension cannot connect to Restbase.") from server "https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/":): {\displaystyle \deltat} = Computational timestep.
- Cwater = The amount of infiltration that can take place based on the amount of water on the surface.
- Ctop = The amount of infiltration that can take place based on the infiltration values present.
- Wsurface = The amount of water (the water column) on the surface.
- Icon = The GROUND_INFILTRATION_MD of a construction on a specific cell (if present).
- Isurf = The GROUND_INFILTRATION_MD of the surface terrain type. This value should be interpreted as the vertical conductivity (Kv) of the sub-soil.
