: When creating or editing a game in the Tygron Engine, a three dimensional (3D) visualization of the game area is rendered. This game area consists of a selection based on real data, or of a simulated area, not based on real data. This game area is a 2D selection, as only length and width of the area are taken in consideration. This game area is visualized on the mini map in game. When the user selects this game area in the Tygron Engine Editor, a three dimensional representation is created of the area within the boundaries of the selection. If selected, the 3D world will be filled with constructions, based on available data. This data can come from different sources, such as Open Street Maps(OSM), Dutch Land Register Data and even custom shape files, as used by architects and spatial planners.

What is a 3D World?

The 3D World is a visual representation in three dimensions of (a part of) the real world or a virtual area.

What is the function of the 3D World in the Tygron Engine?

When playing a game in the Tygron Engine, a three dimensional (3D) visualization of the game area is rendered. In this 3D world the players can navigate and perform their stakeholders' actions. The effects of their actions are also immediately visualized, delivering direct visual feedback. When for example a stakeholder's action negatively affects water storage in the game area, floods will occur and be displayed during heavy rain fall.
