Ground Price

A value that will purchase a finite quantity of land or other real estate property.
As the consideration given in exchange for transfer of ownership, price forms the essential basis of commercial transactions. It may be fixed by a contract, left to be determined by an agreed upon formula at a future date, or discovered or negotiated during the course of dealings between the parties involved.

How the ground price is implemented in the Tygron Engine

Land transactions (and buying and selling of constructions) between stakeholders, to change ownership in the 3D world, is an integral part of the Tygron Engine. It should therefore not come as a surprise that ground prices are also implemented in the Tygron Engine. Not only has ground in the Tygron Engine a fixed price per surface unit, also lowering and raising the terrain height can be set to a fixed price. After the ground price for buying and selling land is set in the editor, players can even negotiate and adjust the ground price later on in the actual game.

Ground price types available

There are three types of ground related prices implemented in the Tygron Engine, in order to better visualize the costs involved in players' actions; the actual ground price per surface unit, the price it costs to raise terrain from water level to ground level, and the price to lower terrain from ground level to water level.

Ground price

The ground price is the purchase price of an area in an amount of money per surface unit. Depending on the regional selections made in the editor/ Wizard, the values can be very different between the regions. For example: the European region calculates the ground price in Euro per square meter, while the US region uses dollars per square foot.

Price to lower land from ground to water level

GroundPriceLowerLand.jpg
The price to lower land from ground to water level is important when measures adjust terrain height. For example, if a measure creates open water to be able to improve the water storage of an area, the costs not only reflect any constructions, but also the terrain adjustment.

Price to raise land from water to ground level

GroundPriceRaiseLand2.jpg
The price to raise land from water to ground level also plays its' part in the Tygron Engine. When a measure changes open water to grass or concrete, in order to place a construction on that area, costs involved with adjusting the terrain height are also calculated as part of the total cost of the measure.
