When working with the full groundwater model of the Water Overlay, underground seepage may present a significant factor in the underground water balance. However, especially over longer times, the effects of external seepage can vary. For these situations, it is possible to introduce a time-dependant variation to the seepage.
For seepage to be functional, two Seepage GeoTiffs are required and must be prepared beforehand. Additionally, a csv with a start-time time sequence for the seepage fluctuation should be prepared.
Editor → Current Situation (Ribbon tab) → Overlays (Ribbon bar) → Water Overlay (Left panel) → Configuration Wizard (Right panel) → Seepage
How to configure variable seepage:
- Open the Water Overlay Wizard, and proceed to the seepage step.
- Opt to configure seepage.
- For the pressure geotiff, import your GeoTiff with seepage pressure values.
- Ensure the uploaded geotiff is selected in the dropdown.
- For the resistance geotiff, import your GeoTiff with seepage resistance values.
- Ensure the uploaded geotiff is selected in the dropdown.
- Set the seepage factor to "dynamic", and opt to select a csv.
- Import the prepared csv.
- Close the import window.
- Close the configuration wizard, and recalculate the Overlay.
