Parametric designs can be defined and used to create Constructions in the 3D world.
Editor → Future Design (Ribbon tab) → Parametric (Ribbon bar) → The Parametric Design to edit (Left panel)
How to create and use a parametric design:
- Create a new parametric design definition.
- Select the desired design type. Use "road aligned" for Constructions placed along the roads. Use "spaced" for all other plans.
- Select the desired Function. This will be type of Construction placed by the design.
- Select the desired floors. This can either be a fixed value, meaning all resulting Constructions will be that exact amount of floors, or the value is not fixed, and the amount of floors will be random for each generated Construction.
- Draw the extent in the 3D world.
- Set the surface area and distance. Tweaking them alternatingly can help to find the desired result.
- Verify that the selections in the 3D world looks appropriate the desired result. If not, tweak the configuration further.
- Apply the design.
- Verify that the result is correct. If not, revert the application and tweak the configuration further.
Notes
- Try the Parametric Design demo Project to get acquainted with this functionality.
