The vegetation fraction is an attribute used by the [[Heat stress Overlay]], and indicates the amount of vegetation per square meter. The vegetation fraction can be determined based on the presence of multiple types of data:
* A [[construction]] with a [[Green space (Heat Overlay)|Green space]] function value.
* If a [[building]] is present with a [[Building vegetation fraction (Heat Overlay)|vegetation fraction]] function value, this value is used.
* A [[terrain]] with a [[Terrain vegetation fraction (Heat Overlay)|VEGETATION_FACTOR]] attribute.
* Otherwise, the present [[terrain]]'s [[Terrain vegetation fraction (Heat Overlay)|VEGETATION_FRACTION]] attribute is used.


The value cannot be overwritten by [[Area]]s.
The vegetation factor cannot be overwritten by [[Area]]s.
