For use-cases related to land availability and public spaces, having an Overlay showing the presence of structures can be very relevant. Using the SOLID Attribute of Buildings, it is possible to create this overview. It will include solid structures such as houses, industrial buildings, and other elements commonly considered buildings. It will exclude features such as roads, trees, benches and vacant lots, which are Buildings in the Tygron Platform but are not actually structures in the traditional sense.

How to create an Overlay showing the presence of structures:
  1. Add an Average Overlay
  2. Set the layer configuration to "Specific Layer", and specifically the "BUILDINGS" layer
  3. Set the Attribute to look for to "SOLID"
  4. Set the averaging distance to 0
  5. If neccesary, recalculate the Overlay
  6. If desireable, configure the Overlay's Legend as appropriate

Notes

  • Using additional Average Overlays, and/or Combo Overlays, it is possible to create more nuanced and specific spatial definitions of the presence of structures.
